I am R L Smith, a Melbourne based writer and poet. I set up this website to track and share my writing escapades. Thanks for dropping by to find out about me and my writing.

The blog contains reviews of books, theatre, and art, as well as occasional musings about writing, my food garden (another passion) and the occasional random rant. You can subscribe via the link at the bottom of this page.
If I see, hear or read something I experience no favourable views of, I will not review it. I see no value in bagging creative work because the reviewers perspective is highly subjective and bad reviews do not support the underfunded arts sector.
If, however I feel a need for a random rant about the world in general (occasionally they are blended into reviews), I will not hold back. You can find those by scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting the appropriate blog category.
I also write long form fiction, but that takes a long time so you will only get to read some if you are one of my beta readers, an editor, you ask me and I agree, or it gets published some day.
