Flash fiction is difficult to write as you have to cover a lot in a few words. Every word has to count. Here are a couple of samples I had fun writing.
Feet of Clay was written for a local spoken word event, The Grand Read, that I took part in in 2018. I also performed it at the Terror Australis Readers and Writers Festival in Tasmania 2019, and most recently for a Facebook live event, Book Love Tuesday. The piece was inspired by a poetry expo that takes place in my town each year.
Take a Leaf Out of My Book was written sitting under a tree at WOMADelaide, a four day open air festival of Music, Arts and Dance held in beautiful Botanic Park in Adelaide. It was a response to the creepy sculptures shown in the photos.
